Thursday was a quiet opening day to the NCAA tournament, but we got fireworks to start things on Friday. Not only was there a wild, Michigan win over Oklahoma State, but also controversy at the end of the Seton Hall-Arkansas game.
For those who didn't witness it, the No. 9 seed Pirates trailed by one point with a little over 17 seconds to go, when Desi Rodriguez fouled Arkansas' Jaylen Barford. Although the play didn't look malicious, the refs believed that Rodriguez didn't make a clear attempt to go after the ball. And that, combined with an inadvertant trip, led to the refs calling a Flagrant 1 foul. No. 8 seed Arkansas got foul shots and the ball back and then sealed the 77-71 victory.
