RALEIGH, N.C. – FOX Sports Carolinas and the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that 81 games of the Canes’ 2013-14 season will be televised. Of the 81 games, 64 games will be carried on FOX Sports Carolinas, while 17 will be carried on FOX Sports Carolinas’ sister station, SportSouth.
John Forslund will handle the Hurricanes play-by-play duties for the 19th straight season and former professional goaltender Tripp Tracy, who is entering in his 15th season, will provide analysis. Chantel McCabe returns for her second season as the sideline reporter. Each of the team’s games will be preceded by the network’s 30-minute pregame show, Hurricanes LIVE, hosted by McCabe with appearances by Forslund and Tracy.
The Hurricanes will open the season by hosting the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 4 at 7:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Carolinas. The 2013-14 television schedule is attached.
