Ryne Sandberg used to snack on cat food ... because it was crunchy. Ooookkkkkkkkk.

We all know that Ryne Sandberg is a Hall of Famer.

And we all know he’s now managing the Philadelphia Phillies.

Ready to learn something new (and very weird) about Sandberg?

Here you go, via an interview Sandberg did with a Philadelphia radio show: He used to eat cat food as a kid.

"I did that as a youngster, maybe 4 or 5 years old, maybe 6 years old. I don’t know. I guess I was hungry. I still remember the crunchiness of it was the biggest thing. This wasn’t a one-time thing either. This went on for about a year as a little snack," he confessed.

Who doesn’t like crunchy food, right? We applaud Sandberg for being so honest. In fact, I’ll admit something right now: I tried cat food once as a kid. And then immediately spit it out because it was gross.
