#TBT: Bill Belichick was friendly and personable during 2005 interview with Howard Stern

Bill Belichick doesn't have much use for the sports media, but he loves Howard Stern.

The usually stoic Patriots coach was downright giddy when he appeared on the show the morning after winning Super Bowl XXXIX against the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 for his third championship as New England head coach.

"It’s a big thrill to be on with you," Belichick told Stern. "I’m a big fan of the show and I’ve followed you for years."

The normally reserved head coach also revealed to the host that he did not have sex with his wife the night he won the Super Bowl.

And when Stern told Belichick he wanted to take him to the New York City strip club, Scores, Belichick said, "I’ll take you up on that invitation someday, Howard."

But one topic in that interview continues to remain relevant: Andy Reid’s bizarre clock management.

The Kansas City coach left people scratching their heads when the Chiefs showed no sense of urgency late in last week’s playoff loss to the Patriots. It was the same situation when Reid helmed the Eagles in Philadelphia’s loss to New England in the Super Bowl.

Amazingly, Belichick actually answered Stern’s question about Reid not having his Eagles’ offense hurry up, saying, "Yeah, I thought it was gonna go a little quicker than that. Yup, I was [surprised]."

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
