Whoops: Kentucky politician's ad celebrates Duke win, not Kentucky

When you think about the great state of Kentucky, what comes to mind first?
Probably not Duke's 2010 national championship basketball team, right?
Well, a very brief clip of that team celebrating its big victory made it into Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R-Ky.) recent ad -- an ad that was supposed to be a celebration of everything that makes Kentucky great.
Check out the commercial for yourself (the Duke part happens at the 1:08 mark):
Here's a screenshot of the moment:
Whoops. The version of that ad has since been yanked.
So who's at fault here? The Associated Press has the details:
"The ad was intended to highlight Kentucky's basketball dominance and obviously the web ad vendor has become so accustomed to watching national championship celebrations in the Bluegrass State that they made a mistake with one of the images," said McConnell spokesman Allison Moore, a Kentucky graduate. "Obviously we were horrified by the error and quickly changed it."
Of course they'd blame it on a vendor ... because we all know that a politician would never let such a mistake happen.
Even though the ad says it's "Approved by Mitch McConnell. Paid for by McConnell Senate Committee '14."
