Jim Harbaugh’s call for ‘1st-class’ conduct on social media draws comical reactions

From his 10-month-old Twitter account with 322,000 followers, University of Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh made a simple plea on Wednesday for civility on social media.

It’s a good and wholesome sentiment.  Of course, it’s a vision that will never be universally realized. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc., are infested to some degree with hatred and negativity toward student-athletes. Michigan punter Blake O’Neill learned that recently, perhaps part of the inspiration for Harbaugh’s plea.

Anyhow, Harbaugh had to know he’d attract some blowback. Some folks pointed to alleged hypocrisy of the "1st-class" behavior appeal coming a guy famous for sideline histrionics.
