Tribe opposing Redskins name airs 60-second ad during NBA Finals

The controversy over the Redskins team name spread to the NBA Finals on Tuesday night.

The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation tribe in California, which wants Washington to eliminate its nickname, paid for a one-minute commercial to air during Game 3

The ad aired in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Sacramento, San Francisco and Washington.

A two-minute version of the spot (above) was posted on YouTube shortly before this year’s Super Bowl.

Below is the version that aired Tuesday night.
