Built Ford Tough!!

The good people at Ford put on an amazing show at Cowboys Stadium this past weekend… during the fall, we honor the “Built Ford Tough Player of the Week” in each classification… one kid represents for the entire state in each classification for his performances on-and-off the field…I had the honor of hosting the event with Neil Beasley… you wouldn’t believe the credentials on some of these kids… GPA’s like Scotty Young’s (Denton Ryan) at 4.5… and record setting seasons like Traylon Shead (Cayuga) and Nate Jeffrey (Caddo Mills)…both chased all-time rushing and TD records…I could go on all day about some of the off-the-field things these kids do… Honor Society, volunteers at their local church, Big Bro’s, student council, mentoring kids, etc… you name it…these kids do it…and remain in the top ten percent of their class!

Ford invited the kids to Jerry’s World for a night to remember… and much of the night was a surprise to the kids…some of them have never even been in a big city… The kids got a stadium tour, pictures with Cowboys Sack Attacker Jay Ratliff and Cheerleaders… complete with a banquet to honor the kids inside the Dallas Cowboys locker room… maybe one day these kids will play for the Cowboys and be in that same locker room.. Ford does so many great things in the community…This program is one that so many kids, parents, coaches, fans, etc. embrace… and should…Ford did it like they do everything… First Class!

In awe of these kids… I couldn’t help but thinking…. we are looking at future Heisman Trophy candidates and 1st round NFL Draft picks… and some may not play football at all… but, will definitely be leaders in our community… like Ford…..which just so happens to be # 1 in sales, again…
