FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The Northern Arizona menâs basketball team will host Weber State at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and then will face Idaho State at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Walkup Skydome.
The Weber State game will be shown on tape delay at 7 p.m. Friday on FOX Sports Arizona, which will air the Idaho State game live on Saturday.
Thursdayâs game will pair NAU (8-11, 5-3 Big Sky) against the top team in the league for the second straight week. Weber State (10-6, 7-1) leads the league in scoring defense in conference-only games, while NAU ranks third in scoring offense in the league. Both teams like to score in the low 70âs, so Thursday should make for an exciting game.Â
Idaho State (7-10, 4-4) ranks fourth in the league in scoring defense and first in field goal percentage defense. The Bengals average 68.6 points per game, but are 1-8 away from home this season.
Northern Arizona is 3-0 in league play at home and is the only team in the Big Sky with two road wins. The Lumberjacks will be matched up against Weber State on Thursday. The Wildcats are tied for first in the league, but are 1-1 in conference road games.
Junior guard Quinton Upshur leads NAU in home games with 16.0 points per game. Junior guard Aaseem Dixon (13.5 ppg), senior forward Max Jacobsen (13.0 ppg) and junior guard Gaellan Bewernick (10.0 ppg) round out the double digit scorers at home.
