Arizona men's basketball coach Sean Miller has been named an assistant coach for the 2014 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team.
USA Basketball announced the appointment Tuesday. Miller will serve under head coach Billy Donovan (Florida) and alongside fellow assistant Ed Cooley (Providence). Miller was a court coach at the 2011 USA Basketball Men's World University Games Team training camp and a gold medalist as a player at the 1991 World University Games.
"I had a tremendous experience representing my country in 1991 as a player on the USA World University Games team, and I couldn't be more excited for a chance to once again be part of USA Basketball," Miller said in a release. "Our program here at Arizona has a long and successful relationship with USA Basketball, and I'm honored to add to that legacy."
The location and dates for the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship have not yet been announced. The competition will feature eight countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the U.S. and Uruguay.
Leading the Wildcats, who currently rank No. 2 in the nation, Miller owns a 117-44 record. He is 237-91 overall as a Division I head coach.
