Each year, the Phoenix Business Journal creates a contest for local companies called “Social Madness” to determine which is best at engaging in social media. This year, FOX Sports Arizona was selected to participate in the contest in Phoenix for the category with a large social following. The 17 companies in the category battled through the first round until June 17, when the top eight were announced. The companies that advanced to the second round were the Phoenix Suns, GoDaddy, Harlem Globetrotters International, News/Talk 92.3 KTAR, Rustler’s Rooste, American Traffic Solutions, Steve LeVine Entertainment and FOX Sports Arizona.
Each organization was paired up with another company to form a bracket for the final eight, with FOX Sports Arizona was set to take on country-western restaurant Rustler’s Rooste. And after a closely contested contest, on June 24, FOX Sports Arizona was announced as one of the “Final Four,” joining the Phoenix Suns, Harlem Globetrotters International and GoDaddy.
This week, FOX Sports Arizona matches up with the domain-name site GoDaddy in hopes of reaching the final on July 2. The local winners go on to compete at the national level in hopes of becoming the Social Madness winner. The winner of the contest will designate a charity to receive a donation of $10,000 from the sponsor in the winner’s name.
