Former Cardinals QB Hall arrested on theft, drug charge

Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Max Hall was arrested Friday on possession of cocaine and stolen goods, the Arizona Republic reported.

Gilbert police were called to the Best Buy near Loop 202 and Williams Field Road, where they found Hall in possession of stolen items from Best Buy and Walmart, a police spokesman told the Republic. He also had a "personal use quantity of cocaine," the spokesman said.

Hall was eventually released.

Hall played for the Cardinals in 2010 and 2011, going 1-2 as a starter in 2010. He started for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL in 2013 and was released this summer.

Hall was 27-1 as the starter at Mesa Mountain View High School in 2002 and 2003, winning a state championship in 2002 and falling to Chandler Hamilton in a triple-overtime state title game his senior year. He began his college career at Arzona State before transferring to BYU.

Hall began the 2014 season as the offensive coordinator at Gilbert High.
