Diamondbacks minor leaguer and Triple-A Reno Aces infielder Nick Evans was named the Pacific Coast League player of the week on Monday for the week of May 5-11.
Evans hit .483 with seven extra-base hits, six runs and a minor league-best 15 RBI last week, including three consecutive games with four or more RBI and six straight multi-hit games.
Evans, who also extended his streak to nine games on Monday night, is among the PCL leaders in RBI (T-1st, 36), home runs (4th, 10), extra-base hits (1st, 22), slugging percentage (1st, .709) and batting average (9th, .350).
Evans is in his second season in the Diamondbacks system. He spent eight seasons in the Mets organization, where he appeared in 159 big-league games, and last season in the Pirates system. Evans is a career .277 hitter in the minor leagues.
