Coyotes sign forward Yip to two-way contract

Free-agent forward Brandon Yip agrees to one-year, two-way contract with Coyotes.

The Coyotes signed free-agent forward Brandon Yip to a one-year, two-way contract on Friday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 28-year-old Yip spent last season with the Predators, recording three goals, five assists and 26 penalty minutes in 34 games. He was acquired by Nashville in a deal with Colorado the previous season. In parts of four seasons in the NHL, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Yip has played in 172 regular season games, tallying 29 goals, 27 assists and 130 penalty minutes.

Yip was originally drafted by the Avalanche in the eighth round in 2004.
