Plan to spend ‘All Day with Randy Johnson’ on Saturday

PHOENIX — Can’t get enough Randy Johnson? Neither can FOX Sports Arizona.

On the day that the Arizona Diamondbacks are honoring their first Baseball Hall of Fame inductee by retiring his No. 51, FOX Sports Arizona will pay tribute to Randy Johnson as well. The network will showcase a programming lineup highlighted by two of his greatest pitching performances, along with live coverage of Saturday’s pre-game number retirement ceremony at Chase Field.

During the "All Day With Randy Johnson" marathon on Aug. 8, FOX Sports Arizona will let fans relive his 20-strikeout game from 2001 and his perfect game from 2004. In addition, the network will also showcase Johnson during its special one-hour edition of the Diamondbacks Live pre-game show that leads into coverage of the D-backs jersey retirement ceremony shortly after 5 pm. And following the D-backs vs. Reds post-game show that night, FOX Sports Arizona will premiere "Randy Johnson: Road To Cooperstown." This show is the product of the FOX Sports Arizona crew that made the trip to Cooperstown to go behind the scenes and document Johnson’s weekend when he was enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 26. Hosted by Todd Walsh, previews of the show can be viewed this week on FOXSportsArizona.com.

Also on Saturday, FOX Sports Arizona has a D-backs Fan Express bus trip from the COX Solutions Store in Tolleson planned and will bring 50 fans to the game to witness this historic night. The bus has recently added a Randy Johnson/Hall of Fame image to congratulate and honor Johnson for his achievement.
