Three things to watch: Pitcher's health
Matt Cain is coming off elbow surgery and missed the Giants' World Series run last fall, and Tim Hudson had a second ankle surgery during the offseason. Neither is a young pup anymore, with other questions in the rotation and ace Madison Bumgarner coming of a career-high 270 innings, the durability of both Cain and Hundson will be key.

Three things to watch: Will Tim Lincecum make the rotation?
The two-time Cy Young Award winner was banished to the bullpen at the end of last season. But he will receive every opportunity this spring to earn a spot in the 2015 rotation. The right-hander, however, has yet to post strong spring training numbers in his career. So how will manager Bruce Bochy and pitching coach Dave Righetti evaluate Lincecum as the regular season approaches?

Three things to watch: How much will Sandoval be missed?
The Kung Fu Panda's fun-loving presence in the clubhouse undoubtedly will be missed and five-year, $95 million contract the Red Sox doled out speaks to his production. Where will the Giants make that up? New 3B Casey McGehee had a breakout season a year ago, but he was in Japan the season before. An inordinate amount of the responsibility will fall on former MVP Buster Posey.
